WSP-50SL spin down sediment filter (small to the right)

Best sediment Filter for a whole-house canister system. iSpring sells both. I researched and bought a 3-canister system for 5 properties before I learned about iSpring and spin-down sediment filters. I wanted to add sediment protection in front of the canister system as a first line of protection to extend the life of the canister filters. There are multiple choices generally and also several types with iSpring, but none like the WSP-50SL. It's the perfect size for my filter system; it handles sediment, rust, and scaling; it is see-through so you can see when it is dirty; it is flushable with a valve at the bottom; and if it needs great cleaning, it can be unscrewed and removed to clean the housing and filter. This is a truly manageable system with no guessing, no buying new filters, and it protects the canister system and filters. The first canister that gets water filtered by the WSP-50SL is also a sediment filter, but it is a 5-micron filter. The WSP-50SL is at 50 microns, and iSpring sells these at 100 microns. This see-through flushable filter protects and extends the life of my canister system, which in turn protects all of my appliances, faucets, and shower heads from scale, buildup, dirt, and all the things it and the canisters do. Behind that, I added a Cloud brand reverse osmosis system with a tank. I chose it for a variety of reasons based on my sink cabinet space and needs, but iSpring sells RO systems too, as well as canister systems. Also, and as important, is customer service. My plumber discarded the product manual package that contained spare O-rings, the manual, and the little wrench to remove the housing. I called and spoke to Robert - ask for him by name - and after verifying my purchase, he sent me a new product packet with all those items. Robert at iSpring and the WSP-50SL, you can't go wrong. For the price point, a 3-canister system fronted by the WSP-50SL, properly installed with bypass plumbing, is a very inexpensive way to have certified authentic whole-house filtration, and once that is done, you can add under-sink RO, or whatever else you need for the best and cleanest city or well water! Again, Robert at iSpring.

Widely Recommended with Various Filtration Systems

I added this filter to an Express Water Heavy Metal Filtration System based upon recommendations of reviewers of several makes of filter systems. I was amazed how much water is released from the clean out sessions of the spin out mechanism. Based on recommendations I opted for the 50micron filter. I am filtering well water that tested for high water hardness (425 ppm), and negative for other targeted problems. The filtered water has brought good tasting and clear and clean water to our house. I chose the spin down filter with the Siliphos to reduce scaling. It is located in front to the 3 part filtering system, and an ISpring Electronic Descaler is added after the 3 part system. The ISpring spin down filter is an integral part of a system I am completely pleased with.

Plugged filter

I have sand in my well water. After just 1 day the filter is clogged and I have almost no water pressure.

Impressive filter

I was so surprised by this product considering it replaced my old whole House Filter which was 3 times the size. Works great and love the convenience of the discharge port for flushing out sediment. Great buy!

Good sediment filter

My well water was full of sediment. After installing this, the bigger stuff gets filtered out. The drainage pipe makes it easy to flush the filter and clean it. It should make my water softener last much longer.

Easy installation

Super easy to install. Replaced a water softener system with a salt free system. Installed this as the first filter from my water source. Valve is convenient for flushing any sediment.

5 Stars But Suggestion for Manufacturer/Seller

Seems perfect so far (just got it) and if I don't update this with criticism it means it's working great. Suggestion to seller/manufacturer: Alter the product picture so it's clear that the siliphos balls in it have been magnified and the viewer knows that in fact they are small and not easy to see. I had to walk mine up and out of the basement and hold it up to a well lit window to spot them after first thinking I received the model without the balls. Otherwise thanks for what seems like a very high quality product!
