Very Heavy Duty

A fantastic reduction in sediment going to my whole-house filter. You may want to have a way to flush the water to outside. The filter drains at about 5 gallons in 5-10 seconds. To keep things clean, it'd be best to auto-flush once a day. I was going to flush to a 5 gallon container, but it would overflow it since the min flush time is 15 seconds. The construction seems very solid. It works exactly as I had hoped.

I Was A Skeptic. Now A Believer

This product is an electric water ionizer. The product includes plastic tie wraps, power cord with low-voltage brick, and full-size color illustrated instruction manual. The product is packaged in a decorated white cardboard box suitable for gifting if wrapped. See attached detail photograph of product installed above a white polymer water pipe.My home is serviced by a community water well. Iron is removed from the water but lime is not. I have a Whirlpool water softener that uses salt to remove lime from the water. Unfortunately, there are members of the household who are night owls and often upset the night cycle of the water softener. Weary of this, I was looking for another solution to softening the water for the household.Enter this product. Although I am always intrigued by the use of electricity in unexpected ways, I was skeptical of the claims made for this product. Nonetheless, I decided to give it a try.Installation was straightforward. The color illustrated manual helped. The key to installing the product successfully is to understand the direction of water flow within the pipe where the ions will be activated by the device. Once that is understood, the second key installation step is to wrap the red and blue wires in the correct direction around the pipe. If this is done correctly, then the stage is set for the device to operate and ionize the water which then prevents lime from settling on the inside of pipes and water fixtures for a fixed distance beyond the device, 40-50 feet of pipe. One of the claims made for the device is water fixtures such as showerheads will have better water flow after the device has been installed for a while. Again, I was skeptical. To my surprise, in a few weeks the water flow to the upstairs master bath showerhead increased. By taking a bristle brush and rubbing it across the showerhead, many clogged openings were cleared and the showerhead began to be behave like new. I was amazed. Further, a function switch on the showerhead that had stopped working began to work again, and it was again possible to switch the showerhead from a fine mist to a course spray and to a single spray. This proved one of the claims made for the device: The device does not only prevent lime from settling on the inside of pipes, it also removes previous lime deposits, which is amazing. In summary, if you are looking for a simple and effective water softener that does not consume salt, consider this product. I was skeptical of its claims but now I am a believer.

Not an instant fix, but a maintenance free solution that works over time

It's been about 4 weeks since installation and I'm slowly but surely seeing results. I have a 600' deep Artesian well that provides domestic water for the house. It had lots of sediment, and some fine particles in the water, but otherwise, the water tested much better than any municipal source, or even my spring box water. No contaminates, and no need for mitigation, but I did have some mineral scale. Over time, the toilets, shower, dishwasher, and tankless water heater were affected. Rather than buy and install a whole house salt filtration system, I opted for the iSpring EDV2 electronic descaler.Installation was easy as there are no pipes to cut or fittings to be installed. The most time consuming chore was to carefully wind the blue coated magnetic wire around a 24" stretch of pipe. Yes, I was a bit frustrated at first, so I grabbed a folding chair for comfort, and some blue painters tape, and set my sights on the task. I wound 10 circles at a time, pulled them tight, and taped them in place with the blue tape. I continued with 10 winds at a time, straightening, tightening, and taping as I went along. This worked for me, and now the wire is set perfectly in place.Mounting the device to the wall, connecting the blue wire, and connecting the power source were straight forward and simple. At first, I saw no real benefit from the descaler, but iSpring, and other users stated it can take 1 to 3 months to clear the pipes, and eliminate any scale. After some time, I noticed the interior of the dishwasher was not as streaked as it had been. Hot water came up faster from the faucet, and the shower chrome had fewer scale deposits. I'm hopeful the iSpring EDV2 Whole House Super Water Descaler with its 100' effective range will work even better as time moves on.In full disclosure, I do use an iSpring automatic spin down sediment filter and iSpring 20" whole house filter body and cartridge. If the manufacturer's products work, why change brands.

First Impression is Good

Lots of debate about these devices, but being retired I had the time to try one. We live in Peoria , AZ and the water is very hard and has lots of scale. Even with soft water and whole house filtering , it is tough water. Installation was easy but I made the decision to add a spin down filter, pressure gauge, install cutoff valves and braded stainless lines. Instructions say it takes 3 months to see results, but after a month, the water does seem to feel a little better and some scale appears to be disappearing around the kitchen faucet. Will wait and see. Was fun installing though. Unable to register for warranty from website. Had to email company and submit invoice to complete the process. Three stars for now.

A+ product and service!

I've had this filter for about two years and it has performed flawlessly. I used to get a lot of sediment from my well, but now it all gets stopped by the filter. I clean it manually a few times per year and have it set to auto-flush every 60 days.Installation was a breeze. I had a plumber replacing an old boiler at the same time, so I did the PEX-A setup with the spin-down, fine sediment and carbon filtersThe PROS: Very solidly built with sturdy brass top fitting where the water goes in and out. The acrylic bottom is easy to remove with the tool and goes back together easily. The filter is stainless and easy to wash off in the sink to get the particles that auto-flush misses. The customer service is the BEST! Recently I spoke with John about filter size since some of my drip emitters are clogging. Calls are answered promptly by a knowledgeable staff who offer advice, replacement or whatever you need. I had a very small leak in the bottom of the drain valve and I received the replacement within three days. It's impressive when a company spends the time and resources to help its customers after a sale since it is definitely not the norm. The CONS: The auto-flush timer is poorly documented (as of 11/2022) so I had to call customer service a few times. This is an add-on at the bottom of the filter canister where the flush valve is located. There is no control over when it flushes - it is initially set the the time you make the setting, so if you program it a 10 am that is its schedule, but over time it seems to trigger later and later till finally you have no idea when it will trigger a flush. This is a minor issue since it does work periodically even though you never know exactly when.TIPS:I pinched and damaged the sealing gasket one time when I put the unit back together. Since you are basically out of business when this happens, I suggest the company include an extra gasket with the kit. At the time, they were out of stock so I had to find a replacement online.Be sure to use silicone plumbers grease on the gasket so it will go on and off easily and don't overly tighten. I found twisting by hand till it is firmly in place with no leaks is enough.I highly recommend this product and company.

Positive results

Had a real problem with chemical deposits in my on demand hot water system. I have placed the ED2000 to the well water line to the intake side of the tankless heater. Results are amazing. Seeing positive changes in the water as being softer & water flow has increased notable. I have now added the Ispring EDV2 to the well feed line. Been 2 weeks & no "ring" in toilet bowl. Looking forward to not adding salt to water supply. A large cost saving. This alone will be a money saver. Another, is reduced cost of replacing washer, hot water tank dishwasher & faucets! All positive for this review. Thank you, Ispring!

Outstanding Product with Exceptional Customer Service after 2 years!

I couldn’t be more pleased with the iSpring WSP200ARJ Spin-Down Sediment Water Filter. The build quality is top-notch—solid brass fittings, clear housing for easy monitoring, and the auto-flush feature is a game-changer for maintenance since our well still produces a large amount of sediment even after 2 years. It’s been incredibly effective at filtering out sediment and protecting our plumbing and appliances. What truly sets iSpring apart, though, is their customer service. It’s rare to find a company that stands so firmly behind their product. We bought this filter 2 years ago and it did recently start leaking but John at iSpring simply sent us a whole new housing to correct the issue with no questions asked! That is great customer service and is appreciated! Highly recommend this filter to anyone dealing with well water & sediment issues. This filter has allowed us to have clean water with great pressure and protected everything in the house from being damaged by sediment. We also now have a iSpring under cabinet filter in the kitchen for drinking water and a ISpring 2 stage whole house filter after this sediment filter to give us a complete filtration system for our water.

Outstanding customer service! And the Cadillac of sediment filters (but I need a 50 micron filter)

TLDR, fantastic customer service and solid product. You won't regret purchasing this filter.I bought this item from an Amazon warehouse deal. I received the filter and found the automatic module that opens the ball valve at the bottom of the filter housing was defective. When installed, the module wasn't engaging the ball valve. I was able to get the original module to work by pulling out of the white shaft that engages the ball valve. But the gears inside ended up being overly noisy which didn't inspire confidence, and I was concerned about the warranty. I'm guessing this is why it was returned, as the filter assembly itself never had any water run through it. Side note: Shame on Amazon for reselling a product that had a known problem, you folks need to do better on these warehouse deals. So I called the customer service number in hopes to resolve the issue. A robot answers the call first, which immediately had me thinking I was going to wait a long time and be connected to someone on the other side of the globe or some AI bot. I was surprised and happy when a real life human picked up the phone after waiting less than a minute, AND that person was based in the USA.I connected with Nick at the customer service line. He listened to my concern and advised me NOT to return the unit to Amazon. Doing so would just cause the unit to be resold (again), and the next person would run into the same problem I was having. After a brief call Nick advised me to email him a description of the concern along with some pictures for documentation and proof that I was the purchaser. He emailed back and told me he was sending a new module. Amazing customer service right there! Most companies would not take the proactive stance, but Nick and ISpring absolutely care about their customers. He didn't want to leave me with a questionable part after buying a brand new filter. Top notch customer service and they've absolutely earned my future business. Now, as far as the filter goes, this is an extremely well built sediment filter. It's the Cadillac of sediment filters! I have previously installed one of the smaller sediment filters, which works well, but also clogs quickly. I wanted to try this unit to save me the hassle of having to walk out to the pump house and manually clean it twice a day. This filter is large, and that extra surface area means more filtering and less clogging. Along with the automatic module, it makes the sediment filter as maintenance free as it can be. My only regret was not going with a 50 or micron filter. The 200 does catch some, but for my application I think the 50 micron (or maybe the 100?) would have worked better, especially considering the much larger surface area and the automatic flush which can be programmed to flush frequently. But how are you to know before running and trying to see what level of filtration works best? Right now my next filter in line is a 5 micron, and that's picking up a lot of sediment that is passing through the 200.Two things I would design differently if it were me. One, make a filter wrench that goes over the black part at the bottom without having to remove the black piece or the auto module. Having to remove all of that to service the filter is bothersome. Two, put the power plug on the side of the auto module instead of the back so that you don't have to remove the module to remove the power cord.Fwiw, my work around is to loosely leave the filter wrench on the housing so I don't have to mess with taking off the stuff on the bottom. It doesn't look great, but I guess I won't misplace the wrench either. Thanks again, Nick, for all of your help! It was a true pleasure to speak with you and I greatly appreciate the level of customer service that you provided. Keep up the great work!

Great Unit - instructions a bit lacking

First of all this is a great unit and the auto-flush module is a must have if your filter set up is not easy to get to. In fact, iSpring is missing an opportunity to market this model to folks who have their filter(s) in hard to reach places - like mine in the crawl space. Most videos on these spin downs show people with the filters in their basement where they are easily accessible. If that were my case I don’t know that I’d spend the extra money on the auto-flush unit. But with my filters in the crawl space this was a game changer. Through trial and error (and buying different manual filters) I determined the 100 micron and less was the sediment from my well. So I bought this jumbo, auto-flushing 100 micron unit that then feeds into the standard size spin down, also with auto-flush, at 50 microns. They are both set to auto flush every week for 30 seconds. The installation was very straightforward, but I had installed two manual spin downs earlier this year so knew what I was getting into. The instructions with these units are quite poor - they hardly mention that the jumbo unit has a built in “shark bite” type connector inside the female 3/4” connector. But, unlike actual shark bite fittings, they don’t say if or how to disengage the pipe if needed. I saw no obvious way to do that, so I used shark bite fittings throughout so I can disassemble if needed. The instruction for the auto-flush unit are good, but anyone who’s ever programmed any electronic device (clock, stove, etc.) would figure this out quickly. The instruction are very poor in describing how to connect the provided output hose - you can figure it out but there is uncertainty you’ve done it correctly until you start the water and do a manual flush. They also don’t say what the diameter of the provided hose is - I needed a “tee” fitting and a length of addition hose to drain out of my crawl space, so had to take their hose to “Lowe’s Depot” to match with additional hose and fitting. So, overall this is a great unit for its purpose. Very solid, brass connectors, sturdy mounting bracket, all the parts included. Just need better instructions (or do one good, detailed video and link to YouTube) to get it to 5 stars. If you are installing a filter in a hard to reach place, the auto-flush is well worth the money.

Inventive, useful, well designed product - Manual could use some work

This is really an amazing product, very useful for whole house filtering, and I wish I'd gotten it sooner.Pros- Well designed- Very large- Fine mesh- Inventive design- High quality brass and see-thru plastic- Many programming options for flushing frequency and duration- Well designed bracket, can mount 2 ways- Universal fittings- The electronic valve with clip is very simple to remove and install, which you have to do to replace batteries or attach the AC adapterCons - The biggest issue is the manual/spec needs work for example:- What kind of tubing does the unit take? Turns out it is 3/8" OD, but is any special kind needed? Only a few feet are included but 25' costs $5, so more should have been included.- How to remove/replace the tubing? You have to remove/untwist the drain cover, remove the tubing clip, hold the tube "collar" while pushing the tube, replace the tube and collar, and then twist back on the drain cover. Very easy once you know how.- What kind of fittings are used? The manual does say 1" MNPT, which are also called "water softener fittings" and there are Shark Bite flexible lines that fit this size.- The included drywall anchors are junk, highly recommend putting at least 2 screws in a stud, or mounting a piece of wood on a stud, and then mounting the bracket to the piece of wood.- The drain flow can be crazy. I had two tubes connected to the same drain line. While this unit was draining, the water came up the other tube about 3'. Highly recommend just running a long line direct into a drain.- Maintenance is just described quickly in the manual. It says it the mesh needs to be cleaned with vinegar every year or so, but some of the comments from the manufacturer said it needs to be *replaced* every year? I would hope these filters can be cleaned and not continually replaced.- It would be nice to buy a spare filter or maybe even a different size mesh, but the options to find part numbers or buy them is limited on the website.- Many disassembly options are drawn in the manual but not described, for example, removing the drain cover, removing the ball valve cover, etc. The pictures are actually pretty good, but more information is needed such as...which of these operations need the water turned off, how to remove the filter without drowning, etc.I realize the above list may look like a lot, and after using and trying things, and asking questions from support, many of these things are obvious. I just think the manual can be improved a bit, offer a copy online, describe things better, etc. Otherwise I LOOOOVEEE this filter and it still deserves 5 stars.

New Home Install, It Works!

Update 1 year in: still working like a charm, and now the faucets furthest away from the iSpring have developed some white calcium residue that we have to clean semi-regularly. It’s minimal, but noticeable. This is because they’re so far from the iSpring unit that its effectiveness is diminished, so I take it as further evidence that the unit works exactly as described. I shudder to think of all my faucets looking like that (or likely worse). I might buy a second and install it to mitigate this, but still one VERY happy customer!Original review: I purposely waited 7 months to write this review, to give this iSpring device a fair shot to either work, or…well, not. We built a new home, so new pipes, faucets, appliances, everything. We’re also on a well here, which was new for us to get used to. The well water is really good—basically filtered mineral water, healthy and pure right from the tap with a TDS of around 550. BUT!…that also means in our first month we began to notice white chalky deposits on our taps and shower heads, and some powder on the glasses/silverware after using the dishwasher. We learned it was due to our high TDS well water, and needed a way to protect our new home’s plumbing and appliances somehow. The conventional wisdom was to install a water softener, but besides the cost we also didn’t want to add salt to our excellent tap water. So I did some pretty exhaustive research and settled on this device instead. It seemed a little like science voodoo, but I figured if it didn’t show results in a month or so I’d return it and get the water softener if I had to.Well, it did show some results, and then some more. It seemed like magic at first, but the shower heads just stopped having powder and sediment building up. The dishwasher did the same, and the taps seemed to run clearer too. We noticed the water felt different when washing—at first we told ourselves we were imagining it, and maybe we were—but soap began to sud better, and washing hands or in the shower felt less “scaly” than before. Also less water spots on surfaces. Then it just kept happening like that, and seven months after install we have absolutely no powder on the dishwasher we use almost daily, the shower heads look the same as the day they were installed, and the water has a “softer” feel. It’s NOT actually softer at all—the TDS is about the same, and the six month water test at both the well and the tap are basically identical to when we first moved in. So I’ve experienced enough to say for us, this thing works—works like a magical charm!—money well spent and im so relieved not to have to put salt in my water and maintain a softener system. I also sleep better knowing the dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge won’t get gummed up with the great minerals that are in our well water.A few items I’ll note here that might be helpful (as others’ were for me as I researched this): our well water is moderately hard, and the hardness mostly comes from calcium and iron. I don’t know how effectively this device would work on other types of hard water. We also are fortunate to have an indoor water heater and a large crawl space, so I was able to install the device after the well pump but before the water heater (this protecting it as well, I hope). So the iSpring is covering both our cold and hot water, which may not be possible in all well system setups. The install wasn’t difficult, but wasn’t exactly simple either. At one point I had to call the customer service line, which was picked up promptly by someone like it was a cell number!…and after I recovered from my surprise at getting a real human right away, he talked me through the issue I had (direction of wire wrapping) and solved the problem in short order. Last, this is the 7 month mark only—I’ll return to update if issues start happening past 12 months. Since I have a brand new plumbing system, anything that occurs will be a good benchmark for the longevity of this product.Overall, I’m an iSpring convert—it works for us, and has made a huge difference in our water quality and confidence that our new really expensive appliances won’t get gummed up with mineral deposits. It still kind of seems like magic, but science can be like that…and, so what, it works! I’m a happy customer.

Works exactly as described

Let me first say that I prepared for this purchase by researching the recommendations the manufacturer had mad before buying it. I knew I needed water within a certain hardness range, <3 ppm iron, and that it would only be good for 50 ft of pipe after the wrap. I tested my water and it was all good so I went ahead and bought it. Luckily, I have two water inlets to my house because one end is an addition. This allowed me to easily install the unit while observing the 50ft pipe rule. I have a total of maybe 30 ft of pipe after the install, with the hot water heater being within 10 feet. Within the first week I noticed that the water felt different and my soap was getting my hands cleaner. I used to wash my hands and have a slick feeling like my hands were oily still (I have oily skin/hands) but I noticed that when I would wash my hands they were very "sticky". Not really like I have syrup on my fingers, but if I tried to slide my fingers against each other after washing and drying them, they'd feel more like I washed my hands with something that took off all the oils. This is very anecdotal and not really something you can say is a definitive thing that a person might think is just in my head, so now for the hard evidence. I have a mirror in the shower that I use for shaving. I have to scrub it with gritty toothpaste every time I use it to clean off the deposits. It takes about a week for it to build up to the point that I clean it. Well I installed this after I didn't shave for about 6 weeks and decided to touch up a little after it had been installed for a month. I cleaned off the mirror with toothpaste and got to work. I decided that maybe this could be my test and started checking it weekly to see how it was going. So far the only thing that sticks to the mirror looks like soap scum (I have my bar on a caddy that has a hook below it where the mirror hangs) and I can just wet it and wipe it off. Maybe it's minerals but they aren't sticking to the point that they require anything to remove. Just my hand and water. This is all I wanted from this thing. Reduce the deposits that were difficult to clean/remove and hopefully extend the life of my hot water heater element. I had a brand new hot water tank when we moved into this house, and after 8 months the element was toast and the bottom of the tank was full of deposits that I had a hard time removing (read chisel, vinegar, and many flushes). I have had this installed for about 3 months so it's not been near long enough to tell how it works for the longevity of the hot water heater, but it's worth it for the cleaning hassles with the fixtures. My wife loves it.All in all I'd recommend it 100% if your water meets the requirements or can be conditioned to meet them. Otherwise, I have no idea, but I doubt it'll work outside what the manufacturer says it will. I will be buying another one to install on the other water inlet to the house, which is the one that supplies the kitchen.
